At this moment, the only way to register a new Cohero account, is through an invitation to join a workspace.
In this article, we'll describe the journey of a new Cohero user, who has been invited to a workspace. In response to the invitation, he will register a new account, after which he'll gain access to the workspace he was invited to. This journey essentially consists of four steps:
1. Email notification
When a (new or existing) user is invited to join a workspace, (s)he receives an email notification (see below) that specifies:
Who invited you
To what workspace you've been invited
A button to go to Cohero
and a URL to copy paste into a browser
2. Log-in (device authentication)
Coming in from the invitation email, a user first needs to authenticate himself. This way we establish that the user is indeed who he claims he is, and has access to the specified inbox. His email address is prefilled, and the user clicks 'Continue': this will trigger a temporary (6-digit) one-time password to be sent to his inbox.
The email that the user receives offers a generated one-time password, which will expire in 10 minutes:
Meanwhile, Cohero will now switch to a screen awaiting the 6 digit password to be entered: when that is entered, the screen will automatically complete the authentication. At this point:
First-time Cohero users are forwarded to the next step: to register their Account
Existing Cohero users (new to this workspace) are forwarded to the confirmation step
3. Register a new account
Now that Cohero has confirmed you are you, it's time to complete your Cohero registration. In this step, in addition to your email address (which was confirmed in the previous step), you add your name to your Cohero account. Based on your first name and last name, Cohero will automatically generate an avatar for you:
4. Confirm your access to Workspace
When your account is registered, the last step involves the user agreeing to join the workspace he was invited to. After this point, the user arrives on the Workspace's Home page.
