Request & Grant Access

This article describes how members can request access, and how these requests are handled by item creators.

This article will cover:

1. Insufficient Permissions: Process to Request Access

It may happen (through somebody sharing a URL, or through an email notification), that a member lands on a Cohero page, to which (s)he does not have access. When this happens, the user sees the following message:

The user can now choose to request access. Optionally, he can motivate his access request with a short comment, before selecting Send request. Cohero confirms that the request was processed correctly: the creator of the item receives a notification.

2. Responding to Access Requests

The Creator of the item receives all access requests in a notification email. The email will clearly outline:

  • The name of the item, to which access is requested

  • The name of the user, who requests access

  • A button to go to the specified asset, to provide access.

When the creator goes to the item, the Share menu will automatically reflect the requestor with no permissions. The creator can now assign the permission level (s)he sees fit for this user.
