When assets have spent some time circulating on customer touchpoints, a moment may arrive that the asset is in need of an update. Such a change can be either fundamental and significant, or superficial and modest. Either way, a new version represents a change in the asset, compared to its predecessor.
This article describes:
1. What to base a new version on
A journey to start a new version begins on the asset page of the asset version you want to base your new version on (your starting point). This may often be the latest available version, but you can also start a new version based on an older version - even when that has expired.
2. How to start a new version
To start a new version, go to the asset you want to use as a starting point. For this example, we'll follow the diagram above, where the user bases his new version on V2.0 (available).
There, you open the Action menu (...) and choose 'Create new version'
3. Choosing where to manage the new draft
Next, Cohero will ask you in which project you want to manage the creation of this new version. At this moment, you need to pick a project in the same Space as the asset currently sits in. Use the dialog to search for the appropriate project, and make your selection.
4. Seeing the initial draft reflected on the canvas
After you have selected the appropriate project, you land on the asset page of your (New version) Draft asset. And as you can see, the chosen 'predecessor' version is already placed on the canvas - intended to give you a starting point.
