Approval troubleshooting

This article contains a selection of Approval-related scenarios, in which users can be in need of some troubleshooting

As a(n): Approver
Dilemma: I am on the asset page, but I don't see the approval controls, to submit my response.

Guidance: To start your approval, please follow the link in the approval request, to go to the asset page. You can use either:
- The approval request on your Home page

  • The approval request listed on your homepage

  • The email notification sent to your email inbox

As a(n): Asset manager
Dilemma: I started an approval step, but forgot to add an approver. Can I add him?

Guidance: Yes, you can still add approvers, while a step is in progress. Simply 'Add approver' - a new request will be generated automatically (and a notification is automatically sent).

As a(n): Asset manager
Dilemma: A former approver who rejected, no longer works at our company. How can I get past his rejection, so that I can complete this step?

Guidance: When approvers who've rejected, are no longer required to approve - the current workaround is to reinvite those approvers, and then cancel that invitation straight away. More elegant ways to 'annull' a rejection are planned for in our backlog, but this is the best way to proceed for n ow.
